. Senior artist Basundhara Bhusal says she got an opportunity to act in the first Nepali movie ‘Aama’ made in Nepal.
Sharing her experience during the special screening of her movie ‘Aama’ as part of the ‘Old is Gold’ program organized by the Film Development Board, she said that she was receiving three-year training in music at the Nepal Royal Academy and not at the National Dance Hall.
‘I wasn’t working at the National Dance House at the time. I was a child actor. He was doing a three-year course in music at the Nepal Royal Academy. One day, after leaving the class, Bhuvan went to meet Chand. In 2014, I danced to a song he sang. After that, I got a chance to go to the shoot with him,” she said.
Bhusal recalled the first time she went to watch the shooting of Shiva Shankar and Bhuwan Chand’s song ‘Hami Srijana Kritiko Jagatma’.
“At that time, I was sitting next to Bhuvandi, holding his red coat. Director Hira Singh Khatri saw me there,” she said.
According to him, Hira Singh Khatri immediately offered to act in the film.
“He asked, ‘Do you want to work in films?’ I replied, ‘We’ll see,'” she recalled.
Bhusal said that Bhuwan Chand played an important role in getting the opportunity to act in the movie.
“If he hadn’t taken me there, the director wouldn’t have seen me and I wouldn’t have had that opportunity. It was an unforgettable moment in my life,” she said.
She said that Bhuwan Chand has supported her in various phases in her musical and cultural journey and as a continuation of the same, she got an opportunity to act in the movie ‘Aama’. Artists Bhuwan Chand, Chaitya Devi Singh and others shared their experiences after the screening.
