Chinese AI glasses are gaining traction in the global market
.China-made artificial intelligence (AI)-based smart glasses are rapidly expanding in the global market and are gaining traction in the new technology industry. With the growing demand for AI, augmented reality (AR) and extended reality (ER) glasses, Chinese brands are strengthening their presence in the international market.
According to industry statistics, 2.46 million smart glasses were exported from China in 2025.
This is 87 percent more than the previous year. Chinese brands accounted for 23 percent of the global smart eyewear supply, while AR and ER glasses accounted for 87 percent of the market.
AI model companies such as Ray Neo, Axarial, Xiaomi, Rokid, Alibaba have accelerated their expansion in markets including Europe and the US.
Zhu Mingming, founder and CEO of Hangzhou-based Rokid, China’s leading innovation hub, has said that in the age of AI, smart glasses are the most popular AI devices for ordinary people.
According to him, in the next three to
five years, AI glasses could become a common tool in daily life. The use of smart glasses is also expanding with the development of multimodal AI technology. These devices are being used for translation, navigation, note-taking, photography, entertainment, and real-time information. At the same time, AR glasses are also opening up new possibilities in work, communication, entertainment and spatial computing.
According to industry analysts, China’s smart glasses industry has made significant strides in lightweight design, advanced optics, and AI capabilities.
The main challenge now is to expand the market by developing useful applications that attract consumers.
According to experts, as AI glasses become as easy and user-friendly as regular glasses, Chinese brands are increasingly likely to take the global market from the initial interest stage to the stage of widespread use.
