Various highways and road sections blocked due to rain
Kathmandu. Floods, landslides and subsidence of roads have obstructed highways and road sections in different parts of the country due to incessant rains. According to the police, vehicular movement on important roads of various districts has been affected till 2.00 pm on Saturday.
Vehicular movement along the Kavrepalanchowk-Sindhuli highway has been prohibited at night in view of the possible risk of floods.
All vehicular movement has been banned along the Khurkot-Nepalthok-Katunjebesi road section from 6:00 pm to 4:00 am. Traffic will be allowed from 4 am to 6 pm.
Similarly, the movement of all types of vehicles along the Kanti Highway in Makwanpur district has been restricted during night due to rainfall.
Vehicular movement has been banned from 5 pm to 5 am.
The Mechi highway in Ilam has also been completely obstructed.
The road section at Rajduwali of Ilam municipality-9 has been obstructed due to incessant rainfall. However, there is an alternative route in the area, police said.
Vehicular movement along the Araniko Highway in Sindhupalchowk district has come to a complete halt due to landslides and landslides.
Landslide occurred at Jirokilo of Bhotekoshi Rural Municipality-4. The highway has been obstructed after stones, mud and mud fell on the road due to a landslide at Kodari of Kodari 2 and a road collapse at Liping.
The Pasang Lhamu road section of Rasuwa district is also completely obstructed.
The Trishuli-Mailung-Syafrubesi road section has been obstructed after the Trishuli River swept away the road at Khalte of Uttargaya rural municipality-5.
Similarly, the Jajarkot-Dolpa road section has been completely obstructed after rocks, mud and mud fell from above the road at Aathbiskot municipality-6 Rijegard River along the Bheri corridor in Rukum (West). SOLUKHUMBU: The road section has been completely obstructed after a landslide occurred at Nildorje of Khumbu Pasang Lhamu rural municipality-1 along the Salleri-Lukla road section. Similarly, the Mid-
Hill Highway of Tehrathum has also been obstructed. According to police, the road section has been completely disrupted after a landslide with stones and soil fell from around 30-35 meters above the Pingawa rivulet at Kade of Laligurans municipality-9.
Police have urged the passengers and drivers to take necessary precaution and travel only after knowing the condition of the road as there is a risk of landslide and flood on various road sections.
