. The National Soil Conservation Day is being observed today. Various programs are being organized to mark the Soil Conservation Day.
This
day is being celebrated with the objective of maintaining ecological balance by reducing natural disasters like flood, landslide and soil erosion and to maintain soil fertility and protect infrastructure.
The National Soil Conservation Day is celebrated since 2031 BS.
The ‘Soil Conservation Day’ is being observed every year on August 7 when the Department of Soil and Watershed Conservation was established.
