. Kathmandu: The third edition of Nepal Premier League (NPL) is set to kick off from October 22. Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) has announced the date of the tournament which will run from October 24 to November 24.
According to a press release issued by Paras
Khadka, Secretary of CAN, this time the NPL will be held between Dashain and Tihar, the main festival of Nepalis. Earlier, the tournament was organized in the month of November after Tihar, but this time it is going to be organized during the festival season.
With the announcement of the date of the third edition of the NPL, preparations for the tournament will also begin. It is expected that CAN will gradually make public more information regarding the participating teams, player selection, game schedule and other management.
The tournament is expected to further increase the attraction of Nepali cricket as the NPL is being held during the festivals. The attendance of spectators in the ground is also expected to increase as the tournament is being organized targeting the long holiday period of Dashain and Tihar.
