. Nepal’s first comedy act-based reality show ‘Super Comedy League’ has been officially announced. The announcement of the show was made through a special program organized in Kathmandu on Sunday.
Speaking at the program, actor Rajesh Hamal said that ‘Super Comedy League’ is different and special for him from other television shows.
He said that although he has been working as a television presenter for a long time, this is the first experience of participating in a reality show based on comedy.
Hamal said that comedy is one of the most challenging genres of art.
Stating that it is very difficult to make the audience laugh, he said that he has high regard for the comedian artist.
“It can be relatively easy to make a person cry or talk about love,” he said.
But making people laugh by doing comedy is a very challenging task. It requires a special sense of humor. Hamal made it clear that although he is the main judge in the Super Comedy League, he is not responsible for awarding marks to the contestants. His role will be to give positive and critical suggestions as per the need by observing the presentation of the contestants.
The show will select comedians from different cities across the country and give them an opportunity to showcase their talents and performances.
Hamal said that he is excited to see the performances of the artists who have been active in the comedy industry for a long time along with the new generation artists.
According to Hamal, the concept of ‘Super Comedy League’ was being prepared for about
a year. He informed that the official announcement of the show was made after long discussion and homework with program director Alan Shrestha.
‘This is not a surprise event. Discussions and preparations were going on for about a year. Now we are ready for the program,” Hamal said.
Hamal praised the artists who have been active in the comedy industry for a long time, saying that the continuity and popularity of comedy artists among the audience is a big achievement in itself.
He also said that he is very excited to see the comedy and sense of humour presented by the new generation contestants.
In the program, Hamal also mentioned the importance of laughter in life.
Stating that laughter is necessary for human life, he expressed the belief that ‘Super Comedy League’ would entertain Nepali audience.
Wilson Bikram Rai, Luniva Tuladhar, Rabindra Jha and Surakshya Panta will be the captain and mentor of the show.
Auditions will be conducted in five major cities of the country ।
