Gyanendra Shahi’s comment on the obscene video: ‘I will resign from the post of MP if proved’
Kathmandu.Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) lawmaker Gyanendra Shahi has challenged the government to find out the truth about the allegations levelled against him by consuming alcohol and linking it with obscene videos in social media.
Speaking in the meeting of the House of Representatives on Monday, MP Shahi demanded that the health bodies of the parliament and a team of doctors examine his health.
He announced that he would resign from the post of MP if it was proved that he had consumed alcohol in his life.
The proverb “the leather hat that you can’t eat” has come true. Serious allegations have been made against me. They have been accused of drinking alcohol and saying whatever they wanted, making obscene videos,” he said.
Standing on the rostrum of the House of Representatives, Shahi said that he had appealed to the country and the parliament for a health check-up.
‘This is the Department of Health in Parliament. There is a team of health workers. Every part of the body should be examined by a team of doctors. My blood should be tested from skin to skin. “I am ready to resign from the post of MP if it is proved that even a single drop of alcohol has been ingested in my body since birth,” he said.
He said that even those who make allegations against him and spread misinformation through social media should be examined.
Shahi claimed that an obscene video of another person found on social media was being promoted as his own.
He announced that he would retire from politics if the video proved to be his.
‘It is about those who bring obscene videos of someone else found on social media and propagate that it is Gyanendra Shahi. Honourable Mr. Speaker, I am a member of your Parliament. It is my duty to maintain the dignity and dignity of the parliament. You are my guardian,” he said.
He challenged the investigation to prove that the video was his and said that he was ready to retire from politics.
“If this video is mine, then it should be investigated, I will retire from politics,” he said.
However, he demanded that the police should take action against those who spread misinformation when the video is not his.
He said that a complaint has already been filed with the police in this regard.
‘If the video is not mine, then why has the police not taken action? Why has the government not taken action against such people? I’m asking for an answer. We have already submitted an application to the police,” Shahi said.
Stating that his character and political reputation have been questioned due to the allegations and materials spread on social media, he demanded an impartial investigation and legal action against the guilty.
