CIAA begins probe into ex-PM’s personal secretary’s properties

Kathmandu. The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has initiated investigation into the properties of some people linked to high-level officials. According to sources, the CIAA has formally started investigation into the properties of Bhanu Deuba and Ganga Dahal.

Bhanu Deuba is a close relative of former Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba while Ganga Dahal is the personal secretary of Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal.

A preliminary investigation has been initiated on the basis of complaints against both the men, the commission said. According to sources, Bhanu Deuba has already filled the necessary form for collecting details of the property and it is being studied.

Similarly, the government has also initiated investigation into the properties of Ganga Dahal’s husband and former minister of Koshi Province Jeevan Acharya.

Earlier, the anti-graft body had initiated investigation into the property of former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli’s personal secretary Rajesh Bajracharya.

The CIAA seems to have intensified the investigation of the properties of people related to high-ranking people in recent times. The CIAA has said it has been carrying out investigation on the basis of complaints received and preliminary facts.
