Kathmandu. Dilli Harijan, coordinator of MBBS and BDS intern stipend uniformity campaign, has been discharged from the hospital after seven days of treatment.
Harijan, who was admitted to the hospital after his health deteriorated during his fast-unto-death, has expressed gratitude to his parents, doctors, health workers, media persons and all who supported the campaign through social media. He said the seven days he spent in hospital were one of the hardest and most emotional times of his life.
He apologized for the pain his parents had to endure while being treated in the ICU and said that he did not back down from his purpose.
“I have been raising my voice not for my personal interests, but for the bright future, rights and dignity of thousands of BBS and BDS interns, medical students and millions of doctors in future generations,” Harijan said.

He demanded that the agreement reached with the government should not be limited only on paper but should be implemented effectively.
“I will now move forward with the effective implementation of the agreement reached between us in a more restrained but forceful manner, putting my health first,” he said.
Harijan said he would never forget the trust and contribution of all those who supported the campaign, saying he would like to see the agreement reached with the government implemented.
