Seven-point agreement between the government and the family of the deceased Mehta

Kathmandu. The government and the family of Rabindra Kumar Mehta, who was killed in an incident at Kaptangamma of Dewangunj Rural Municipality-3 in Sunsari district on July 26, have signed a seven-point agreement.

As per the agreement reached between Mehta’s parents and Home Minister Sudhan Gurung today, the process to declare Mehta a martyr would be expedited. The agreement states that an impartial and effective investigation into the incident that took place on the night of July 26 at Dewangunj-3, Kasangunj and necessary action will be taken against the culprits immediately.

Likewise, an agreement has been reached to immediately initiate necessary investigation into the legal status of the madrasa at Dewangunj-3 and related issues.

In the MoU, the government has decided to take necessary initiatives to provide employment to one eligible member of the family of the deceased.

The agreement also states that necessary process would be taken to implement the suggestions and recommendations of the report of the probe committee formed to study the incident as per the prevailing laws.

The government has also agreed to take the dead body to Sunsari of Dewangunj Rural Municipality-3 by Nepal Army helicopter and cremate the dead. An agreement has also been reached to construct a memorial park in the rural municipality by allocating budget this year in the memory of the three people who died in the incident.
