Senior litterateur Dr. Rajendra Vimal
Janakpur. KATHMANDU: Noted litterateur Dr Rajendra Bimal has passed away.
He died at the age of 79 on Tuesday morning at the provincial hospital in Janakpur, according to his family members.
He was taken to the hospital on Monday night after his health deteriorated.
His last rites will be performed at 3:00 pm today at Swargadwari in Janakpurdham.
With the demise of Bimal, a long and active literary journey for Nepali and Maithili literature has come to an end.
He was known as a writer who established the social, cultural and political life of Janakpurdham and Mithila in the narrative of Nepali literature.
. Rajendra Bimal is the elder brother of Dr. Surendra Labh, the chief of Madhesh Province.
