. KATHMANDU: Talented cricketer and skilled all-rounder Upendra Raya of Saptari district has passed away. Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) has expressed deep sorrow over his demise.
In a condolence statement, CAN said that the Nepal Cricket Family is deeply shocked and saddened by the news of Raya’s demise.
CAN has expressed deep condolences to the bereaved family members wishing for eternal peace to the departed soul.
“The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) is deeply shocked and saddened by the untimely demise of a skilled all-rounder and talented cricketer Upendra Raya of Saptari district,” CAN said in a statement.
Rai was known as a rising cricketer of Saptari. He showed his talent by performing well in various competitions at district and regional level.
With his demise, Nepali cricket has lost a talented young player.
CAN has paid tribute to the departed Raya in this hour of grief and wished for the strength of the family to endure.
