Demand of Genji Youth to arrest Deuba from the airport

Kathmandu. Genji Andolan Nepal has demanded that the government detain former Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba from the airport and initiate an impartial investigation.

They have demanded an immediate investigation into the details made public that a huge amount of money was found in Deuba’s residence. In a press statement issued by Jenji Andolan Nepal, Bijaya Shah demanded an impartial and transparent investigation into the questions raised publicly against Deuba. The statement also mentions various cases including wide-body, Ncell, fake Bhutanese refugees and Melamchi among others and said that action should be taken as per the law if found guilty.

“If the law is the same for all, then Deuba should be arrested from the airport as per the law and the investigation should be started,” the statement reads. The Jenji Movement Nepal has warned that it will retaliate if the government tries to influence the investigation in the name of political patronage. Noting that 76 people were killed and thousands of young people injured during the protests, the statement warned that a repeat of the old impunity would further weaken public trust.

The Jenji faction has called on his supporters to be present at the Tribhuvan International Airport at 11 am today, saying that Deuba is returning to Nepal.

They said they would be present peacefully at the airport and put pressure on the government for an impartial investigation.

Meanwhile, the government is preparing to tighten security at the airport.

The Jenji faction has claimed that its event will be peaceful and warned that the government should take responsibility for any repression by the state.
