Vaccine against snakebite and rabies arrived at Teku Central Store
. Vaccines and immunoglobulins used for the treatment of snakebite and rabies have arrived at the Central Vaccine Store in Teku.
Under the regular procurement process of the Department of Health Services, 8,200 vials of antisnake venom serum used in the treatment of snakebite were received at the central vaccine store at 5 pm on Thursday. Similarly, 17,600 vials of rabies immunoglobulins, which are used against rabies, have also arrived at the central store.
Acting Director General of the Department of Health Services, Dr. According to Dr Anuj Bhattachan, the medical supplies will be supplied to the health facilities concerned through health supply centres in all seven provinces after completing the required process.
The availability of vaccines and immunoglobulins required for the treatment of patients at risk of snakebite and rabies is expected to make the treatment services easier in health facilities across the country.
