Landslide in Bajura More details: Missing Thapa found dead
Bajura. Pratiksha Thapa, who went missing in a landslide in Bajura, has been found dead. Pratiksha Thapa, 20, who went missing in the landslide, was found dead during the search.
The village is in mourning after his body was found buried in the landslide. The landslide occurred at Tamsu of Triveni Municipality in Bajura district due to incessant rainfall. Dhauli Devi Rawal and Dharma Thapa, 40, were injured in the incident.
The injured have been taken to the district hospital for treatment.
The houses of Dharma Thapa, 39, and Karna Bahadur Thapa, 43, of Tamsu were buried by the landslide, according to the District Police Office, Bajura.
Following the incident, a 17-member police team led by Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Shaileshwori Bohara was mobilized to the incident site with necessary rescue materials.
The village is at further risk due to landslides. A team led by the Mayor and Deputy Mayor of Triveni Municipality has been on site to take stock of the situation of the landslide, treatment and rescue of the injured, and the details of the damage. A team of Bajura Police, Nepal Army and Armed Police Force has been mobilized for the rescue operation.
Normal life in the district has become chaotic and difficult due to heavy rainfall last night.
Houses and shops in Budhiganga-2 have been damaged. Similarly, a house collapsed in Gaumul-2. Walkways are in a state of limbo. The road area has also become inconvenient due to landslides and water. Floods and landslides triggered by incessant rainfall every year cause loss of life and property in Bajura.
