‘One MP, One Tree Plantation’ in Singha Durbar: Suggestion to protect the saplings you have planted
Kathmandu. Speaker DP Aryal has urged the lawmakers to be active in conserving the saplings planted under the ‘One Parliament, One Tree Plantation’ programme organized in the New Parliament House premises on Friday.
Addressing the program, Speaker Aryal said that several species of saplings including camphor, litchi, sakura, mango, Buddhachitta, avocado and rudraksha were planted.
He urged every lawmaker to take care of the saplings they have planted at least once a month, to apply water and fertiliser and to identify the saplings.
“All the honorable members who plant trees today are asked to take care of the plants planted by them once a month, water them, fertilize them, and identify the plants… I request the honorable member who planted the fruit to share it with others after one or two years,” he said.
Similarly, Labour Culture Party Chairman and lawmaker Harka Rai said that programmes like tree plantation would give a positive message.
Stating that such programmes would help reduce the partisan differences among the lawmakers, he expressed the view that working together would improve mutual relations.
‘Such programs send a good message. We always do our job as lawmakers in the House of Representatives. This reduces party differences. It’s fun to work together,” he said.
