House of Representatives to meet on Wednesday: Party leaders to speak on special motion on disaster

Kathmandu. Speaker DP Aryal has called a meeting of the House of Representatives. The meeting of the House of Representatives, which was adjourned indefinitely after the meeting of the Business Advisory Committee of the House of Representatives today, has been postponed for an indefinite period on Wednesday at 1 pm. The agenda for the Speaker to present a special proposal on the disaster has been approved in the meeting of the House of Representatives, according to Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) federal parliamentary party whip Prakash Chandra Pariyar.

He said, “The Business Advisory Committee met today to resume the House which was adjourned for an indefinite period after the disaster. The meeting had made a proposal on which days would be appropriate on the 18th, 22nd and 17th. The Speaker will present a special motion on the national disaster on the 17th and the House will be reopened on the 18th, followed by a public holiday for three days. After that, it will start from the 22nd. If the government declares a national mourning on September 22, the regular business of the parliament will start from September 23. According to him, it has been agreed that the leaders of the six parties representing the special motion in the parliament will be allowed to express their views on the issue of the disaster. However, there is no provision for the proposer and supporter of the special motion.

The House of Representatives will meet for two days on September 1 and 18. After that, the parliament will resume on September 22 as it is a public holiday for three days.

If the government declares a national mourning on September 6, the regular business of the parliament will start from September 7, Pariyar said.
