Khumbu Pasang Lhamu Rural Municipality to provide Rs 22.22 lakh to flood victims of Rasuwa

Solukhumbu. The Khumbu Pasang Lhamu Rural Municipality, which is reeling from the pain of floods and disasters, has decided to provide Rs 22.22 million for the rescue, relief and rehabilitation of the people affected by the devastating floods in the Bhotekoshi River in Rasuwa.

The rural municipality has decided to help the flood victims of another district as Khumbu itself has been affected by the latest disaster. The rural municipality has said that the amount will be deposited in the Prime Minister’s Natural Disaster Relief Fund.

According to a press release issued by the rural municipality on Sunday, the rural municipality has decided to provide the amount for the rescue, relief and rehabilitation of the flood-affected people.

The statement was issued by Mingma Chhiri Sherpa, chairperson of the rural municipality.

Not only this, the people’s representatives of the rural municipality have also decided to contribute an amount equivalent to their one month’s salary and allowances to the Prime Minister Natural Disaster Relief Fund in order to provide additional support during the time of disaster.

Along with the institutional support of Khumbu Pasang Lhamu Rural Municipality, the personal contribution of the people’s representatives will also be going to the flood victims.

This support provided by Khumbu to the disaster-affected citizens of another district has set an example of humanitarian cooperation among the local levels during the time of crisis.
