Decision to extend all-party mechanism to province and local level
Kathmandu. An all-party meeting held on Tuesday decided to extend the all-party mechanism formed at the center to the province and local levels.
The meeting also discussed coordination among the three tiers of government for effective rescue and relief operations and the political parties to provide necessary support and cooperation, said NC Spokesperson Devraj Chalise. According to him, it has been decided to mobilize all three tiers of government in the rescue and relief works in a coordinated manner as there is government at the province and local level just like the government at the center.
He said, “It has been decided to communicate the same kind of mechanism to the lower level in the way we have formed an all-party mechanism at the center. It will be said that it will work by using the special powers given by the constitution or law. For any case, the ward chairman is needed rather than any political party, and the legal provision is also the same. Therefore, today’s decision is that the government of all three levels should coordinate in rescue and relief work and make more effective relief and rescue work and organized efforts for the people. The all-party meeting has decided to give priority to the rescue and relief of the victims through cooperation and coordination among the political parties during the time of disaster.
‘The party has back-up support, no party is different in this. We all have to be with the suffering people. We should be involved in rescue and relief. There is no issue to politicise it. It is also a crime to politicise this sensitive issue,” he said.
