Trishuli disaster wiped out civilization linked to history: Lawmaker Parajuli

Kathmandu. Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) lawmaker Ganesh Parajuli has said that the country is facing a terrible natural disaster that this generation has not seen or heard.

Speaking in the House of Representatives on Wednesday, he said that there was a huge loss of life and property when the destructive flow started due to the disturbance in the Himalayan region in the northern part of the country entered the bank of the Trishuli River via Bhotekoshi. He said that thousands of people have lost their lives and thousands of families have been displaced in this disaster.

He said, “The destructive flow that started due to some disturbance in the Himalayan region in the north entered the bank of the Trishuli River via Bhotekoshi, not only destroyed thousands of lives but also left thousands of families in distress.” There is an incalculable physical loss. The Trishuli civilization, which is connected with history, has been wiped out. Parajuli said that the disaster has caused a serious impact on the Trishuli civilization which is connected with history. He said that the damage to villages, roads, bridges, hydropower projects and other physical infrastructure has been unimaginable.

He said that the death toll has crossed 1100 and thousands of people are still missing. He said that even foreign nationals are out of contact and stressed the need to make search and rescue operations more effective.

Lawmaker Parajuli said efforts were underway to rescue the people trapped and trapped in the tunnel.
