Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) urges the government to make the ongoing search, rescue and relief operations more effective after the floods
. The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has urged the government to make the ongoing search, rescue and relief work in the aftermath of the Bhotekoshi floods more effective.
The party secretariat meeting held on Thursday seriously reviewed the situation of national mourning and disaster arising out of the Bhotekoshi floods for about three hours.
Talking to media persons after the meeting, RSP Spokesperson Jagadish Kharel said that the government was playing a leading role in the search, rescue and relief operations despite limited resources.
According to him, Vice President and Finance Minister Dr. Swarnim Wagle informed about the work done by the government after the disaster. Kharel said that preparations were made in the meeting to take forward the work of rehabilitation along with search, rescue and relief.
Kharel said, “This meeting is focused on the current Bhotekoshi flood and the national mourning caused by it in a completely
important and serious manner. We have made a serious review in the party regarding this disaster, the Bhotekoshi flood and its aftermath, search, rescue and relief.” According to him, about
Rs 8 billion has been collected in the fund set up by the government so far. It was informed in the meeting that more than Rs 1 billion has been sent to the NRA and more than Rs 60 million has been sent to the affected local levels through the NRA.
The RSP thanked the government for its work in search, rescue and relief and concluded that it should work more effectively. The meeting stressed on the need to provide relief to the affected areas, continue the search for the disappeared and make the rescue work more effective. Kharel said, “The party has thanked the government, expressed satisfaction and should make it more effective, we still need to take the relief to the affected places, still continue the search and continue the rescue.”

The RSP has decided to continue and strengthen its support to the government in the difficult situation of disaster,” he said. According to him, the party has concluded that it will provide necessary support and support not only to the federal government but also to all the three tiers of government.
Similarly, party president Rabi Lamichhane informed the meeting about the discussions held in the all-party meeting and the conclusions drawn from it. Kharel said that Lamichhane thanked the political parties for the solidarity expressed in the all-party meeting to face the disaster. The RSP has also stressed the need to move ahead by forging long-term political and national consensus for disaster risk reduction and management.
He said, “The President has also emphasized that our political and national consensus should be maintained in the long-term, long-term with regard to disaster risk reduction and management. And I would like to inform you that the Secretariat meeting of the party has also adopted it. ’
