Two technicians rescued alive from tunnel of Trishuli-3 ‘A’, search for others intensified
Kathmandu. Two employees of Trishuli-3 ‘A’ Hydropower Project have been rescued alive from the tunnel of the Trishuli-3 ‘A’ hydropower project, which was blocked due to floods and landslides. The rescue team cleared the debris and mud of the tunnel and rescued two people who were trapped inside.
Mechanical foreman Sanjay Shah and mechanical supervisor Kabir Maharjan were rescued alive.
Immediately after the rescue, they will be brought to Kathmandu for preliminary health check-up and further treatment.
Security personnel and technicians involved in the rescue have said that more people are still trapped inside the tunnel. A joint team of Nepal Army, Armed Police Force, Nepal Police and project technicians is intensifying the search and rescue operation of those remaining in the tunnel.
