Ramechhap. The four local levels of Ramechhap have announced assistance worth Rs 66,06,470 in solidarity with the massive floods in the Bhotekoshi, Trishuli and other districts of Rasuwa, Nuwakot, Dhading, Chitwan and other districts on August 26.
Ramechhap Municipality, Gokulganga Rural Municipality, Khandadevi Rural Municipality and Sunapati Rural Municipality have decided to donate the amount to the Prime Minister’
s Natural Disaster Relief Fund for the rescue, relief and rehabilitation of the people affected by the floods.
Ramechhap Municipality has announced to donate the maximum amount of Rs
4 million to the Prime Minister Natural Disaster Relief Fund for the victims, including 10 days’ salary of the people’s representatives of Ramechhap Municipality, the amount fixed by the employees and teachers and the Disaster Management Fund.
Gokulganga Rural Municipality has decided to donate Rs 100,
000 from the disaster management fund of the rural municipality, 10 percent of the people’s representatives to Rs 39,350 and the salary contribution of teachers and employees of the rural municipality to Rs 2,067,120. It has been decided to transfer Rs 22,06,470 to the fund.
In addition, the rural municipality has also provided Rs. 25,000 to each family for the search expenses of the victims. It has also said that it will provide a separate relief of Rs. 25,000.
Khandadevi Rural Municipality: The rural municipality has decided to provide Rs 2 lakh from the disaster management fund. It has also pledged to collect the salary of the officers, assistants and support staff for 1 to 5 days and also provide additional amount.
The Sunapati Rural Municipality has decided to donate another Rs
200,000 to the Prime Minister Natural Disaster Relief Fund for the rescue and relief of the flood victims.
All the four local governments have expressed their condolences to the bereaved family members and paid tribute to those who lost their lives in the floods. They have also appealed to all parties to be on high alert and cooperate in this difficult situation of disaster by speeding up the search for the missing.
