Kathmandu. The price of eggs has reached an all-time high. According to the new price list released by the Nepal Layers Poultry Farmers’ Association, the price of all types of eggs has been increased by Rs 15 per crate.
With this increase, the farm price of eggs has reached an all-time high. The association claims that the price has to be adjusted to balance the increase in cost prices and market demand.
According to the price fixed on August 18, the farm price of eggs of XL size was Rs 590 per crate which has now increased by Rs 15 to Rs 605.
Similarly, the price of big egg has been increased from Rs 575 to Rs 590 per crate and the price of medium egg has been increased from Rs 535 to Rs 550 per crate.
The price of small eggs has been kept unchanged at Rs 3,200 per box. This is the farm price. The consumer price has been fixed at Rs 25.
Similarly, consumers will have to pay Rs 45 (Rs 22.5 per egg) for two medium eggs.
According to Association Secretary Madan Pokharel, this price has been fixed for the entire country considering Chitwan as the main base.
The association has been saying that farmers have been facing problems due to the continuous increase in the cost of chicken feed, medicines and transportation in recent period
