Korea Returnee Organizations Hand Over Joint Relief Materials to Flood Victims of Nuwakot
Kathmandu. The organizations of Nepalis who returned from South Korea have jointly distributed relief materials to the residents of Nuwakot affected by the floods on August 26. The relief was handed over jointly by Ankur Nepal, Sangi Nepal, The Bridge International and Korean Association MPS Monitor under the leadership of Nepal Korea Entrepreneurs Association.
Rice, lentils, beaten rice, oil, clothes, utensils, life jackets and other essential items were provided as relief.
The materials were handed over to the victims through the District Coordination Committee, Bidur, Nuwakot-based Relief Management Committee.
The program was attended by Nuwakot Constituency No. 2 lawmaker Achyutam Lamichhane, District Coordination Chief, members of local relief management committee and representatives of supporting organizations.
On the occasion, Prem Kumar Gurung, President of Nepal Korea Entrepreneurs Association, said that this was the first phase of relief and additional support would be provided in the coming days as per the need. Similarly, Ankur Nepal’s Chairman Lal Prasad Bhattarai said that the organization would continue such social works through collaboration and unity during the time of disaster.
After handing over the materials, the delegation also conducted an on-site inspection of the flood-affected areas. This joint effort of Korea Returnee and Korea-related organizations has sent a positive message on disaster management and social responsibility.
