Prime Minister’s message to flood-affected parents: You are not alone, the state and the government are with you. Prime Minister Walen Shah urged the parents of the flood-affected areas to feel that they are not alone. In a message on social media on Saturday, Prime Minister Shah said, “You are not alone, the state is with you, the government is with you.” Issuing a message through social media on Saturday, Prime Minister Shah said, “You are not alone, the state is with you, the government is with you.” “The news that a joint rescue team of the Armed Police Force, Nepal and Nepal Police rescued 64-year-old Chandrika Shrestha from Bidur-10, Betrawati of Nuwakot district today has given hope to the entire country,” he said. The Prime Minister said that the government has already rescued many parents of Chandrika’s mother in the age group and above.
He said that during the floods, some parents had to save their lives by running to the hills with trembling hands without even caring for their lives. He said that he had to face such difficult situations in the later part of his life. He said that even in a foot that could not move two steps without a stick, he had the unique courage to save his children at such a time.
The Prime Minister mentioned that even the parents living in old age homes due to floods had to flee to safer places.
“Before the floods, you must have been sitting in your own courtyard watching your children working in the fields by the river,” the message reads. He would have been keeping an eye on the road while waiting for them to arrive. He said that the floods have also affected the daily lives of the senior citizens who have been living in Chautari and sharing their sorrows, experiences and knowledge with their neighbors for years. The Prime Minister said that some people were forced to watch their children and grandchildren being swept away in front of their eyes due to the floods, while some were completely lonely after losing their spouses. He said that seven parents have been given temporary shelter at Nepal Senior Care, Mhaiki, Kathmandu and 17 at Krishna Pranami Temple in Inarpati, Nuwakot after the floods damaged the Devighat Senior Citizens Protection and Study Academy, Bidur Bhawan.
