NVL Team Sagarmatha replaces the sponsor with the QR of the Prime Minister’s Fund

Kathmandu. The first edition of the Nepal Volleyball League NVL Team Sagarmatha Smashers has replaced the QR of the Prime Minister Natural Disaster Relief Fund without any commercial organization as the main sponsor.

Promoter of the team, Shani Raj Bhandari, said that many sports organizations have been providing support from their respective places after the devastating floods in the Bhotekoshi River in Rasuwa.

Expressing shock over the huge loss of life and property caused by the devastating flood in the Bhotekoshi River in Rasuwa, the entire Sagarmatha team has paid heartfelt tribute to all those who lost their lives in the flood-affected areas. Expressing condolences to the bereaved family members, the team has also wished for the speedy search for the missing people, rescue and safe rehabilitation of the affected people.

In such a calamity, it is understood that even a small effort made by everyone from their respective places will give a big boost to the government and the bodies concerned.

Instead of keeping the main sponsor, the Sagarmatha team says, “Volleyball is the national sport of Nepal and the general public’s attachment to it is well known. When the country is in crisis, the situation can be made easier only by uniting the countrymen. With this belief, we have decided to keep the QR of the Prime Minister’s Natural Disaster Relief Fund instead of the main sponsor in the first edition of NVL. Many organizations in the sports sector are helping from their respective places. We have also taken this decision to show the same solidarity. “

Earlier, the organizers had also informed that all the money received from the sale of tickets for the NVL opening match against Madhes Warriors will be deposited in the Prime Minister’s Natural Disaster Relief Fund. Sagarmatha has also made a heartfelt request to all sports lovers and citizens to unite for the country in this sad time. The NVL has started from Friday. Sagarmatha had emerged victorious in the opening match of the six-team tournament.

Sagarmatha defeated Madhes Warriors by a set of 391 in the match held at the National Sports Council Covered Hall in Tripureshwor. In the NVL, which will run till September 10, six teams will play the single round robin league and the top team will directly enter the final. The second and third placed teams will play a playoff for a place in the final.

The winner of the first-ever franchise league in Nepali men’s volleyball will win Rs 20 lakh. This is the highest cash prize money ever in Nepali volleyball.
