Kathmandu. So far, 1,356 people have lost their lives due to floods and disasters. According to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority under the Ministry of Home Affairs, 98 bodies have been identified and handed over to their relatives from various flood-affected districts so far.
According to the data released by the NRA at 6:00 pm on Monday, 169 dead bodies were recovered in Rasuwa, 197 in Nuwakot, 38 in Tanahun, 70 in Dhading, 75 in Gorkha, 363 in Chitwan, 223 in Nawalparasi East and 221 in Nawalparasi West. The recovered bodies include various human organs.
DNA test has been arranged to identify the unidentified bodies. According to the NRA, samples can be submitted to the concerned District Police Office with two photos and a document verifying their relationship.
So far, 6,
676 people have been treated for floods and disasters. Of the 327 people treated in 10 different hospitals, 242 have been discharged.
Similarly, 3,379 people were treated by the Nepal Army and 2,970 by the Armed Police Force. So far, 13
,396 people have been rescued. So far, 21,402 security personnel have been deployed for search, rescue and relief work.
A total of 7,912 security personnel from Nepal Police, 9,287 from the Nepal Army and 4,203 from the Armed Police Force (APF) have been deployed in the affected areas. As many as
4,994 people are still out of contact following the floods, according to the NRA.
