Peacekeepers exchanged in Central African Republic, 71 departed, 75 repatriated

Kathmandu. Nepalese peacekeepers deployed in the Central African Republic (CAR) for peacekeeping operations at the call of the United Nations have been exchanged.

According to the Directorate of Public Relations and Information of the Nepal Army, 71 peacekeepers of the 12th Squadron have left for the mission area to replace the 11th Squadron of the Military Police Unit (Peace Force) deployed at the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission (MINUSCA) in the Central African Republic. The team led by Lieutenant Colonel Rabin Shrestha has left for the mission area. Likewise, 75 Nepali peacekeepers led by Lieutenant Colonel Suman Thapa have returned home after successfully completing their tenure in the same mission.
