Balavati’s question to the government: Who will take responsibility for the violent activities of September 24?

Kathmandu. Nepali Communist Party (NCP) lawmaker Balawati Sharma has said that the agitation carried out by the youths on September 23 last year is sacred.

Speaking during the special hour of the House of Representatives on Wednesday, MP Sharma questioned the government as to who would take responsibility for the violent activities that took place on September 24. She raised serious questions about the vandalism, arson, looting and damage to historical heritage on public and private property on September 10.

“The agitation by the youths on September 23 was sacred. What was the purpose of destroying the historical monument, vandalism, arson and looting of public and private property on September 24 on September 24?” she asked.

Lawmaker Sharma said that the voice raised by the youths against the ban on social media, good governance and other irregularities of the then regime was justified.

MP Sharma demanded an answer from the government as to who would take responsibility for the incident. She said that it should be clear whether the movement was just a ladder to ascend power or there was some other motive behind it.

She also drew the government’s attention to the implementation of the Gauri Bahadur Karki-led investigation and human rights report.

She said, “Should the report of Gauri Bahadur Karki and Human Rights have been implemented or not? I want to ask the government. ’
