Kathmandu. Now, gas cylinders of any company can be exchanged. The government has decided to implement an alternative system after the shortage in the Kathmandu Valley was not resolved despite the supply of gas.

Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supplies, Gauri Kumari Yadav, has directed the authorities concerned to supply cooking gas cylinders at the same price if consumers are not of the same brand as they are using.

According to the ministry, consumers are facing the problem of gas shortage due to the disruption in the supply system due to the recent floods. This provision has been implemented with the aim of solving this problem immediately. Initially, this provision will be limited to the Kathmandu Valley.

Minister Yadav also directed the Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) and its related LPG industries to carry out necessary coordination and facilitation for the effective implementation of the provision.

Meanwhile, the government has said that it will keep a strict vigil on those businesses misusing the disaster situation to create artificial scarcity, causing unnecessary trouble to consumers or disobeying government directives.

Minister Yadav also warned of stern action against those found violating the government’s directives.
