Siraha. On the occasion of the completion of one year of the Jenji movement, youths have organized a condolence program in memory of the youths who lost their lives during the agitation at Choharwa Bazaar of Siraha.

The youths gathered at Choharwa Bazaar along the East-West Highway to pay tribute to the youths who lost their lives during the Genji agitation and remembered their contribution and sacrifice. The youths participating in the program stressed the need to constantly remember the social and political issues raised by the deceased, the aspiration for change and the demand for good governance.

On September 7, 2008, the youth of the Genji generation took to the movement expressing dissatisfaction with the ban on social media, corruption, irregularities, nepotism, autocracy, and lack of good governance. The movement, which spread to various parts of the country including Kathmandu, had a significant impact on the political and social context of Nepal in a short span of time.

The use of force during the movement and the subsequent incidents caused huge human and material damage. The youths of Choharwa have honored the sacrifices of the youths who lost their lives in the movement and said that their courage, desire for change and voice for good governance should be kept alive in the days to come.

The youths participating in the condolence program said that addressing the dreams of the martyrs and the issues raised by them in practice would be a true tribute to them.
