Association claims that there will be no shortage of LP gas in Kathmandu Valley, urges people not to hoard unnecessarily
Kathmandu. Nepal LP Gas Industry Association has urged consumers not to hoard LP gas unnecessarily, citing that the supply of LP gas in the Kathmandu Valley is regular.
Issuing a press release on Wednesday, it said that the supply of gas through bullets has been affected due to the recent floods and the road blockage on the Krishnabhir section of the Prithvi Highway. The floods in the Bhotekoshi River have caused damages in Rasuwa, Nuwakot, Dhading, Gorkha and Chitwan districts, according to the association.
According to the Association, LPG cylinders based in Kathmandu, Kavre and Dhading have been taken to factories in Bara, Parsa, Chitwan, Dhanusha and Nawalparasi as per the directive of Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC). According to the association, there is a daily demand for 40,000 cylinders of gas in the Kathmandu Valley. According to the association, cylinders are being sold in the valley by refilling cylinders in various districts of the Terai for the last three days. The association has reminded that the supply and sale of LP gas has been continued even during crises like earthquake, blockade and COVID-19 pandemic in the past.
