Rasuwa floods: Rescue team enters Chilime Tunnel
Kathmandu. A team deployed for the search and rescue of those trapped inside the tunnel of Chilime Hydropower Project has entered the tunnel of the Chilime Hydropower Project affected by the devastating floods in the Bhotekoshi River in Rasuwa.
The rescue team entered the tunnel after removing debris, stones, concrete and mud piled up at the entrance area using an excavator since Friday morning.
Rescue teams have entered the tunnel and are searching for the trapped people and taking stock of the situation.
The way to the tunnel was opened by removing the thick mud and debris accumulated by the floods. After the road was opened, the rescue team entered the tunnel and started the search.
The team has continued the search operation with the objective of finding out the condition of the workers and other people trapped in the tunnel and rescuing them safely.
