Member of Parliament Dr. Karki and other teams reached Kalika in Rasuwa and distributed relief to the flood-affected people

Kathmandu. Member of the House of Representatives Dr. Arjun Karki and former minister Bimala Rai Poudyal among others distributed relief to the flood-affected people of Rasuwa.

The team reached Kalika rural municipality-1 of Rasuwa district and distributed essential goods including food to 166 affected people.

The team distributed one sack of rice, lentils, salt-oil, sugar, beaten rice and other food items to each family. The relief was distributed with the help of WHH, RRN and other organizations.

The devastating floods on August 23 had caused huge damage in Rasuwa, Nuwakot, Dhading and other areas.

Dr Karki, who is also the former ambassador to Nepal, has also appealed to the international level for relief and rescue efforts.

He also drew the attention of the government to the effectiveness of relief and rescue work and gave various suggestions.

A total of 7,570 buildings have been damaged and 32,

963 people from 8,317 households have been directly affected by the disaster.

As many as 5,130 people are still out of contact after the floods and landslides. It said it was continuing to send food and non-food items by road and air to the affected districts.

The flow of relief materials to the affected districts has decreased in recent period.
