Education Minister Pokharel inspects Purbanchal University, interacts with officials
Biratnagar. Minister for Education and Sports Sasmit Pokharel visited Purbanchal University and interacted with the university officials. During his visit to various districts of Madhesh Province, Minister Pokharel inquired about the overall condition of the university, the programs being implemented and the problems and challenges faced by the university.
On the occasion, Minister Pokharel inquired about the state of various physical infrastructures, educational activities, administrative services and management of the University. On the occasion, Minister Pokharel stressed on the need for all to effectively discharge their responsibilities to develop the University into a timely and competitive institution by improving its educational quality, administrative efficiency, use of technology and service delivery.
He stressed the need of creating an environment for bringing the results of the examination at the earliest and also to utilize the university’s property and physical infrastructure.
Minister Pokharel pointed out the need of improvement in the educational and administrative sector by making the university time-friendly and technology-friendly. He said that the development of the university should not be limited only to the construction of physical infrastructures but should also be centered on quality education, competent human resources, effective administration and technology-friendly service delivery.
Minister Pokharel expressed his commitment to provide necessary facilitation and coordination from the ministry level regarding the problems and needs of the university. He also stressed that the priority plans forwarded by the university should be gradually forwarded on the basis of available resources, legal provisions and institutional capacity.
Vice-Chancellor of the University, Prof. Dr. Sujan Babu Marhatta said that digitalization and electronic governance would be taken forward with high priority to develop the university as a technology-friendly and modern institution.
He added that necessary reforms would be expedited to make the administrative and educational activities of the University technology-based, transparent, effective and service-seeker-friendly. On the occasion, Chief Advisor to the Education Minister Shailendra Jha said that the university needs a radical policy to address the problems and not rely only on the traditional working style to address the present needs and challenges. Although some of the works done in the past are commendable, he stressed that the works of the university should be carried out in a clear and measurable way in the coming days. The university officials apprised the minister about the ongoing educational programs, condition of students, infrastructure development, human resource management and future plans of the university.
