The current session of the Federal Parliament will end tonight
. President Ram Chandra Poudel has prorogued the current session of both the Houses of the Federal Parliament.
President Poudel prorogued the current session of the parliament on the recommendation of the government and Council of Ministers in accordance with Article 93 (2) of the Constitution of Nepal. According to the Office of the President, the current session of both the Houses of the Federal Parliament will prorogue with effect from 12:00 midnight on Friday, September 3, 2008.
The cabinet had recommended to the President to prorogue the session on September 29. On the basis of this recommendation, the President prorogued the session.
