Campus Chief accused of irregularities, students protest
Janakpur. The teaching and examination of Ram Swaroop Ram Sagar Multiple Campus (RRAB) in Janakpurdham is being affected. The Rarab Campus of Janakpurdham, which was once famous throughout the country for producing talented manpower, is becoming a place for politics.
The students have complained that due to the political tussle and internal disputes, not only the daily teaching but also administrative and examinations of the campus are being badly affected. The students have been staging a sit-in in the campus for about a week. They have accused Campus Chief Basanta Lal Karna of financial irregularities and corruption. The students have accused Campus Chief Karna of violating the process and buying other personal items in the name of the campus and going to various hotels for fun. Manish Yadav, a student of the campus, said that they have evidence that the campus chief purchased administrative materials without listing and without tender.
He submitted a memorandum to Campus Chief Karna a few days ago and asked him to make the financial accounts public.
Another student of the campus, Gautam Yadav, said that they have proof that the campus chief had paid Rs 10 lakh to the guests in the hotel despite having a guest house on the campus. Student Gautam Yadav has claimed that it is clear that the campus chief has been indulging in irregularities in the case of the payment of the bill of goods worth millions of rupees even in the name of food in the campus if there is no cooking work, feasting, etc.
He has also accused Campus Chief Karna of carrying out construction and other works through uninformed quotations of 27 programs. Student Yadav warned Campus Chief Karna that if the details were not provided within 48 hours, he would even black-soot the Campus Chief Karna.
Meanwhile, Campus Chief Karna held a press conference yesterday (Wednesday) and said that some students and employees have been deliberately spoiling the atmosphere of the campus to remove them. He has claimed that everything has improved in the school from teaching to examination since he came. But the students have been protesting against Chief Karna’s claim, saying that it is false.
