Kathmandu. The government has proposed a new provision for menstrual leave for women employees. The provision regarding menstrual leave has been included in point number 125 of the ‘Bill to Amend and Integrate the Laws of the Federal Civil Service’ registered in the Parliament.
In the prevailing law, facilities like sick leave, maternity leave and maternity leave were limited to such facilities. But in this case, a provision has been proposed for women employees working in government service to get separate leave during menstruation.
If the bill is passed, women employees will be provided separate leave in addition to the regular leave on the day of menstruation, keeping in mind their health condition.
This provision is seen as an important step from the point of view of the health protection of women employees, ease of work and inclusive service.
