Finance Minister Dr. Swarnim Wagle has urged the families of the customs employees who lost their lives and went missing in the Bhotekoshi-Rasuwa floods not to feel alone in this hour of pain.
Meeting with the family members of the victims at the Ministry on Thursday, he said that the Ministry of Finance and the Customs administration are with the family. He expressed sorrow that the competent employees of the customs department deployed in the Rasuwa-based area with the responsibility of collecting government revenue have been lost due to unimaginable calamity.
He said, “We have suffered a huge loss of life and property due to the calamity that took place so that even prior information and vigilance could not be taken. We are also in pain and sorrow as you are. We are also saddened by the loss of family members of our capable customs administration. I cannot express the pain you are feeling, but you are not alone. We are with you.” Finance Minister Dr. Wagle also urged the family members to openly put forth their problems with the ministry and department. He also said that the needs of the family members will be implemented by the ministry and the department on priority basis. During the meeting, he received the demand letter prepared by the family members and said that it will be implemented.
