Kathmandu. Finance Minister Swarnim Wagle has said that the government will bring 27 new laws in the current fiscal year for economic reforms.

Addressing a workshop seminar on the preparation of Nepal Infrastructure Conference-2026 on Friday, Finance Minister Wagle said that after he became the Finance Minister, he started the process of repealing the old acts and formulating new laws.

He said, “Within half an hour of my tenure as the finance minister, 15 old laws were repealed. We will bring 27 new laws in the budget this year. We are now chasing the ministries for 27 laws that will be helpful in the budget reform and for economic reforms.” “

Wagle said that the government has also taken forward the issue of amending the laws that the private sector has been raising since the past.

He said, “We will bring Ram Rajya to amend the 28 laws mentioned by the CNI.” The Chamber of Commerce and Industry had talked about 42 laws a few years ago. Our law minister has surpassed all of them and 166 laws have been passed by the cabinet. “

Finance Minister Wagle said that the essence of good governance should be extended to all the organs of the state.

He said, “Other organs of the state should also spread the same essence of good governance. Otherwise, the behavior of 17 ministers alone will not make the character of the entire state, but if the core is clean, then it will not take time for other things to be absorbed.” He said that there are various challenges in the process of economic reform and it is taking time to uproot the evil tendency of exploiting the state by capturing policies and institutions.

“There are a lot of challenges,” he said.

It is taking time to shake and uproot this evil tendency that has taken root to exploit the state by capturing policies and institutions. ’
