Bhotekoshi Flood Update: 1,455 bodies found

Kathmandu. As of 8 am on Saturday, 1,455 bodies have been recovered due to the devastating floods in Bhotekoshi of Rasuwa.

Of them, 236 were in Rasuwa, 204 in Nuwakot, 73 in Dhading, 369 in Chitwan, 79 in Gorkha, 38 in Tanahun, 232 in Nawalparasi East and 222 in Nawalparasi West. Two of them died while undergoing treatment in Kathmandu. So far, 1,334 bodies have been managed (preserved under the soil) after completing the necessary procedures for the identification of the bodies found. A total of 3,406 DNA samples, including 1,330 of the deceased and 2,076 of the relatives, have been collected for the identification of the bodies. ,975 police personnel have been deployed for rescue, search, relief distribution, dead body management and other works in the flood-affected areas. So far, the search for 4,718 missing people is underway. Similarly, 1,240 people have been kept in holding centers in various districts.
