6 killed, 1 0 injured in bus accident in Nawalparasi (Bardaghat Susta East) At least 10 people were injured in a bus accident at S Mode in Binayi Triveni Rural Municipality-2 of Nawalparasi (Bardaghat Susta East) along the East-West Highway. At least 10 people were injured.
The bus (
State-3-01-006 Kha 1553) en route to Kathmandu from Nepalgunj lost control of the bus and overturned into a drain, police said. According to the police, 18 people including the bus driver were killed in the accident, 10 were injured and two others are unharmed.
The deceased has been identified as Nirjung Khatri, 50, of Bheri Municipality-3 in Jajarkot district. The identities of the other five deceased are yet to be ascertained, police said. The injured have been identified as Harisharan Thapa, 30, of Gorkha Municipality-9, Tejendra Prasad Bhandari, 28, of Mangalsen Municipality-6, Achham, Akriti Budha, 20, of Thakurbaba Municipality-1, Bardiya, Pawan Budha, 32, of Swamikartik Rural Municipality-5 of Bajura and Sanjay Tharu, 28, of Rajapur Municipality-9, Bardiya. Similarly, Prem Bam, 25, of Swamikartik Rural Municipality-1, Bajura, Anoj Khatri, 29, of Kunjay Sompak Rural Municipality-5, Lalitpur, Lal Bahadur Karki, 36, of Bansgadhi Municipality-7, Bardiya, Aslam Bhagawan, 48, of Nepalgunj Sub-Metropolitan City-16 and Anil Budhathoki, 21, of Salyan Bangad Kupinde Municipality-1 were also injured in the accident.
As soon as the news of the incident was received, a police team under the command of Police Inspector Thaman Singh Rana reached the spot. Police said that the injured were rescued and taken to Madhyabindu Provincial Hospital, Danda for treatment.
Police are investigating the cause of the accident.
