Helicopter forced to charter
Ward Chairman Tamang has demanded the local administration to clear the snow accumulated in Nyalu and Nara Lake and resume the road. The daily life of the locals of Limi has been affected due to the lack of road operation.
Nyalu Lake, which is 5,000 meters high, is one of the major entry points to Limi. Due to the road blockage, 18 hoteliers from Til village of Limi, 90 from Halji, three from Jang and 11 from Tumling have been affected. Two hotels are also in operation in Takchi.
Three feet of snow, gold mine police station, water and ration problem
The police personnel working at the police post set up at the gold mine of Limi are also facing problems due to the snowfall. After three days of continuous snowfall, about three feet of snow has accumulated around the post. Ward Chairman Tamang said that it is difficult to arrange drinking water as the water in the taps has accumulated due to lack of firewood.
Necessary firewood and food grains are being brought from Halji village. Due to the accumulation of snow on the road, rations and other materials have to be carried on foot to the checkpoint.
Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) of District Police Office, Humla, Shankar Khadka, said that information will be given only after knowing about the latest situation. Since the 4G service is operational in Halji village, the police of Sunkhani reach Halji on foot once a day and from there they exchange necessary information. It takes about four hours on foot to reach Halji from Sunkhani police post. At present, 10 policemen including an assistant inspector of police are working at the Sunkhani police post.
JCB needed to clear the snow of Nara Lake
The Hilsa-Simkot road section has also been obstructed due to the accumulation of snow up to three and a half feet at Nara Lake, which is located at an altitude of 4,670 meters. Inspector Kedar Sapkota of the Armed Police Force Border Security Post said that it was not possible to clear the snow accumulated on the road without the use of JCB.

According to the locals, this year, for the first time in the last 15 years, there has been snowfall in Hilsa since September 26. According to them, before this, Hilsa used to receive heavy snowfall only after October. Locals believe that due to the change in weather, it snowed early this year.
Locals of Humla, who are in Taklakot, are facing problems in returning home as the road is not being operated as Dashain and Tihar are approaching. Locals have urged the concerned authorities to immediately clear the snow accumulated on the roads of Limi and Hilsa and resume transport services.
