Kathmandu. The closed session of the Nepali Congress (NC) is underway for the third day today under the 15th General Convention. The report of President Gagan Kumar Thapa, Vice-President Bishwa Prakash Sharma, General Secretary Gururaj Ghimire and Treasurer Umesh Shrestha is yet to be endorsed.
Yesterday, the amended statute of General Secretary Pradip Poudel was passed. The election process has moved forward accordingly. The closed session is being held at Khula Manch while the candidacy registration program for the election is going on at the National Assembly Hall.
While the attraction is towards the election, the hustle and bustle in the Khula Manch is less. Coordinator of the General Convention Management Committee, Suresh Raj Acharya, informed that the bandh has been started.
He said that the report was presented among the general convention delegates of their respective clusters in three halls, but although it started separately in the beginning, it is planned to hold discussions in the same hall if the convention delegates are less present.
Acharya said, “The report presented by President Gagan Thapa, the report of Vice President Bishwa Prakash Sharma, General Secretary Gururaj Ghimire and Treasurer Umesh Shrestha will be discussed. Then it will be endorsed.
