. Shankar Tiwari has filed his candidacy for the post of General Secretary in the 15th General Convention of the Nepali Congress.
Tiwari filed his candidacy for the post of general secretary at the Central Election Committee office in the National Assembly on Tuesday. After the nomination, he said, “I have formally filed my nomination for the post of Central General Secretary of the Nepali Congress. Now I hope for your support and cooperation.”
At a special function held in Kathmandu on Sunday morning, Tiwari announced his candidacy for the post of General Secretary representing the new generation for the protection of NC ideology, creative interpretation and party transformation.
Tiwari, who was the youngest candidate for the open central member in the 14th general convention, had announced his candidacy for the post of general secretary this time. Tiwari, who is also known as a political analyst and writer, has been working closely with Congress President Gagan Thapa since student politics. He said that he has also been collaborating with President Thapa in the field of writing and ideological thinking. Tiwari said that it was necessary to connect the party with the people from the grassroots to the far-flung areas by strengthening the NC organization as per the changing political situation.
