However, he said that he was preparing to file his candidacy for the post of joint general secretary, but discussions were underway to take a final decision.

‘I am preparing for the post of joint general secretary. But I am discussing. Everything is not just by wishing. Everyone should be brought together,” he said.

Shrestha said that he had been elected to the post of central member with a good number of votes earlier and that there was a basis to win the post of joint general secretary. However, he said that everyone should move ahead by taking everyone together in the party.

He further said that discussions were underway on whether to file candidacy from the quota of joint general secretary or for the open central member. Shrestha said that his priority was to move ahead by making the NC united, maintaining good governance and discipline in the party and bringing all the castes, languages and communities on board. He said that the NC should be taken among the people with programs targeting the upcoming local and provincial elections and the party should be made attractive in such a way as to win the people’s votes.
