Kathmandu. Nepali Congress leader Nain Singh Mahar has filed his candidacy for the post of General Secretary of the party. Mahar has filed his candidacy for the post of General Secretary of the Nepali Congress in the 15th General Convention.
Mahar, who is also the former president of the Nepal Student Union (NSU), was elected as a central member of the Nepali Congress in the 14th general convention. After being elected as a central member, he also headed the education department of the party.
Mahar had been preparing to contest for the post of general secretary of the party for a long time. Mahar, who has been active in the party organization since student politics, has staked claim for the post of general secretary on the basis of his political experience and organizational role.
