A memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed between the Ministry and Nepal Red Cross Society (NRCS) amidst a programme at the Ministry on Tuesday. The agreement was signed by Acting Secretary of the Ministry Chakra Bahadur Budha and Chairman of Nepal Red Cross Society Dr Bishal Bhandari. As per the agreement, cash assistance will be distributed to the affected target groups in a safe, transparent, dignified and need-based manner.

The data of the affected people will be made available by the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority. On the basis of the data received and necessary verification, the beneficiaries will be identified and the money will be directly deposited in the bank account of the concerned beneficiary. This aims to make the aid distribution process easy, transparent and effective.
