Six decisions of the Council of Ministers: Compensation to 153 victims, promotion of high-level employees

Kathmandu. The meeting of the Council of Ministers held at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers in Singha Durbar on Wednesday took important decisions ranging from providing compensation to 153 victims, recommending to the President to issue various ordinances and promoting high-level employees.

The meeting held today gave approval to provide compensation to 153 victims recommended by the National Human Rights Commission for compensation.

The meeting also decided to give consent to the establishment of Consulate General in Kathmandu.

According to the government’s spokesperson and Minister for Education and Sports, Sasmit Rokhrel, the cabinet has decided to recommend to the President to issue ordinances to amend some Nepal acts related to land, ordinance to amend some Nepal acts related to forest and ordinance to amend some Nepal acts related to disasters. The meeting also decided to promote Joint Secretary of Nepal Engineering Services Grouping, Nabin Raj Singh, to the post of Gazetted Special Class Secretary. Likewise, joint-secretary at Nepal Administrative Service Grouping, Chakra Bahadur Budha, has been promoted to the post of Gazetted Special Class Secretary. The cabinet has also decided to promote Deputy Auditor General Chandra Kanta Bhandari to the post of Deputy Auditor General of Special Class.
